STC 2021 Privacy Policy

This privacy policy describes the information practices regarding how the organization committee of the Student Technical Congress 2021 (“STC 2021”), organized by the German Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and its associated student chapters and university groups, collects, uses, discloses or transfers personal information that you share with us during the application process of this year’s STC. This policy is based on the privacy policy of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (https://www.spe.org/about/privacypolicy.php​).

Collection of personal information:

In the application process of the STC 2021 the following personal information is collected: Surname, given name, university/company, email address, gender as well as if the applicant wants to participate in the pre-program of this year's congress.

Personal data is only used for immediate organization purposes such as all planning for which the precise number of participants is necessarily needed.

The personal data are used for contacting the participants for all aspects of the organization of the STC 2021. This includes contacting the participants after the conference to share the proceedings or inform about the next STC.

A participant list (First name, Surname, and Affiliation) is prepared for the conference proceedings and for sponsoring companies.

Other than that, the information is not sold or shared with third parties.

Video and photo material that is recorded during the congress, as well as transcripts, may be published partially afterwards (e.g. in the GSSPE newsletter).

Duration of storage and contact details:

Data are stored for 1 year after collection.

Applicants can request information regarding their personal information stored by the STC 2021 organization committee using the contact address below.
